Concrete is porous, meaning it absorbs all liquids and moisture. The conditions it's poured under, settlement, shrinkage, overload, and various other factors can all cause concrete to crack, spall, and flake. A sealer protects your concrete surface from the various elements that can further contribute to damage including salt from roads in the winter. Sealing maintains your concrete and extends its longevity. Sealing is recommended to be done every 2 years and exposed aggregate to be sandblasted after 10 years and re-sealed.
Concrete sealing protects against deterioration and staining
Broom Finished concrete is concrete finished by dragging a broom, or something similar, over its wet surface before it dries. Brushing the concrete makes for a textured surface with small, but noticeable grooves.
Exposed aggregate concrete is a decorative style of concrete suitable for use as a driveway, sidewalk or patio. The appeal is in the finish, which exposes the textured small rock that are part of the concrete.
Stamped concrete is concrete that has been imprinted, or that is patterned, textured, or embossed to resemble brick, slate, flagstone, stone, or various other patterns and textures. Stamped is always sealed with a traction aid.
